GEORGIA (CONVERSEER) – A Georgia high school quarterback, Trey Smith, has given his homecoming crown to the team’s top fan, a boy with Down Syndrome.
Smith, a Roswell quarterback, was seen putting his crown on the head of senior Jake Jeffries.
Jeffries never missed a football game in the four years he has been at the school and now helps the team by filling up water bottles for the players.
The gesture has drawn positive comments from fans and supporters alike.
The heartwarming moment occurred during the school’s homecoming night festivities.
Jake Jeffries has been a devoted supporter and assistant for the football team since his freshman year.

According to his father, Scott Jeffries, Jake was initially invited to lead the team out onto the field during one game, and the coaches kept inviting him back to continue the tradition. By his senior year, he was helping the training staff with tasks like filling water bottles for the players.
When Smith was announced as the homecoming king, he immediately went over to Jeffries and placed the crown on his head. The entire stadium erupted in cheers as the players and crowd showed their support.
