Gov Eno Gifts Aide Brand New Car At Mother’s Funeral

By Joe Udo

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has charged young people to be diligent and committed to any service roles under their care.

Speaking at the funeral of the mother of his aide, Nsikak Luke — the late Madam Comfort Isaiah Luke — held in Ikot Oku Nsit, Nsit Ibom Local Government Area, the Governor, who adjusted his official schedule to travel from Abuja for the ceremony, said his presence was to honour the aide’s outstanding commitment and exemplary service.

He observed that many young people lack the patience required for service, noting that such an attitude could ultimately become their undoing.

Referring to the scriptures in Ecclesiastes 9:10, Governor Eno admonished youths to,understand that, “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might.”

Governor Eno eulogised the deceased and the family for raising a son who, according to him, has become a shining star in his community.

He urged the family to be consoled by the legacies of their departed mother and prayed for the eternal repose of the soul of the deceased.

The Governor also seized the occasion to commend the Chairman of Nsit Ibom Local Government Council, Hon. Otobong Aaron, along with other council chairmen, for their effective service delivery, noting that their efforts have brought the impact of government closer to the grassroots.

In further demonstration of his appreciation, the Governor presented Mr Luke with a brand-new car and also donated a transformer to support the community.

In a message of appreciation, the Village Head of Ikot Oku Nsit, Obong Ini Udobong, appreciated the Governor for his superlative performance in the State and for impacting on the grassroots.

He highlighted several developmental projects initiated by the Governor in the area, noting that in line with the words of his predecessor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, who said, “My successor will do 100 times better than me in all ramifications,” the Governor has lived up to expectations and has not disappointed the State.

Preaching on the theme “Where Will You Spend Your Eternity,” drawn from (Luke 19:16 and Psalm 15:1), the Resident Pastor, Menger Apostolic Mission, Ikot Oku Nsit, Pastor Etekamba E. Okon, said it is appointed unto every man to die, but where he spends eternity is what matters.

He urged Christians to desist from evil and live exemplary lives in their daily engagements while preparing to meet with Christ in eternity.
