Dr Obah Edom Tawo, an aspirant for the House of Representatives seat for Etung/Obubra Federal Constituency under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has provided party headquarters in Etung Local Government Area and his home community of Bendeghe Ekiem, Cross River State.
Tawo, in a statement made available to journalists, said the initiative was part of efforts to strengthen grassroots political engagement and deepen the party’s presence across the constituency.
He explained that the ADC Constituency Headquarters located in Efraya, Etung LGA, is a permanent structure designed to serve as a central hub for party activities and coordination across the 21 wards in the constituency.
The aspirant stressed that leadership must be demonstrated through action even before electoral victory, noting that service should not be seen as a reward for winning elections but as a justification for seeking public office.
According to him, the provision of the offices would offer party officials, stakeholders, and supporters a functional space to organise and mobilise effectively.
Tawo also disclosed that an additional ward headquarters has been established in Bendeghe Ekiem, his hometown, to further strengthen the party’s grassroots structure and accessibility at the community level.
He described the facilities as collective assets rather than personal achievements, adding that they are intended to benefit party members, youths, women, farmers, and traders who require visible and accessible political platforms.
“These structures are meant to promote inclusion, mobilisation, and sustained political participation across the constituency,” he said.
Reaffirming his commitment to the people of Etung and Obubra, the aspirant emphasised that meaningful representation must begin with tangible contributions at the grassroots.
He called on residents to actively participate in the political process by registering with the ADC and supporting initiatives aimed at long-term development and inclusive governance.
Tawo added that the project aligns with his broader vision of building enduring political structures capable of driving sustainable growth beyond the current electoral cycle.
