CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – Governor Bassey Otu has approved the appointment of Surveyor Efiom Edem Ekpenyong as Secretary of the State Land Use and Allocation Committee (LUAC).
Ekpenyong replaces Mr Obase Ekaba, who recently retired from service.
According to a statement by Linus Obogo, Chief Press Secretary/Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, on Monday, the appointment is in line with ongoing reforms to entrench transparency and due process in land administration.
“In line with ongoing reforms to entrench transparency and due process in land administration, His Excellency, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu, Cross River State Governor, has approved the appointment of Surveyor Efiom Edem Ekpenyong as Secretary of the State Land Use and Allocation Committee (LUAC), following the retirement of Mr Obase Ekaba.

“The Governor further directed that no backdated Letters of Offer or Allocation be processed, and no new allocation proceed without proof of statutory payment, except where waivers are expressly granted.
“He also revoked all allocations issued without proper documentation, underscoring his administration’s commitment to accountability and the prudent management of public assets under the People First agenda,” the statement read.
