ABUJA (CONVERSEER) – Sen. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, Senator Representing Cross River State Northern Senatorial District, has stated that he joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) because President Bola Tinubu is doing well.

Jarigbe, who was reelected as Senator under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023, defected to join the ruling All APC on Wednesday, 22nd October 2025.

Speaking shortly after meeting Tinubu, Jarigbe said he wants to support the President in delivering democracy dividends to the people.

Speaking with newsmen, Jarigbe said he joined the APC “because the President is really doing well and I want to come in and support him in delivering the dividends of democracy.”

When asked if he consulted his people before making the bold move, Jarigbe said, “Our people are aware of what our President is doing, and they are in full support.”

Earlier, while welcoming the defectors to the party, Senate President Godswill Akpabio said they found it expedient to join the APC because “Mr President’s policies have turned things around economically, and particularly in terms of revenue generation for the nation.”
