CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – The Federal Commissioner representing Cross River State at the National Population Commission (NPC), Rt. Hon. Barr. Alex Ukam, has commended Governor Bassey Otu for his visionary leadership and remarkable achievements as he marks his 66th birthday.
In a special goodwill message issued on Friday, Ukam praised Governor Otu for his uncommon humility, commitment to service, and developmental strides that have positively transformed the state since his assumption of office.
He highlighted the governor’s notable interventions in key sectors such as agriculture, education, healthcare, and infrastructure, describing them as strategic efforts that have significantly improved the lives of Cross Riverians and promoted sustainable development.

“We celebrate your life, God-fearing leadership and dedication to the service of the people of Cross River State. Your ‘People First’ government has brought hope and progress, improving lives through various initiatives. Your commitment to peace, security and development is appreciated by Cross Riverians,” Ukam stated.
The NPC Commissioner also acknowledged the cordial relationship and mutual support he has shared with the governor over the years, praying for God’s continued blessings upon him. He wished Governor Otu long life in good health, wisdom, and the strength to continue driving the state’s repositioning agenda.
Governor Otu, who assumed office in May 2023, has championed policies focused on inclusive governance, infrastructural renewal, economic growth, and social development, earning widespread commendation across the state.
