(CONVERSEER) – The Chairman of Ogoja Local Government Council, Chief Hon. Christopher Agbeh, has signed the 2026 Local Government Appropriation Bill into law, pledging to be guided strictly by its provisions in the execution of projects and programmes.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chief Agbeh assured that all projects and programmes captured in the Appropriation Act would be implemented according to specification and in line with relevant financial regulations. He emphasised that the council’s activities, as outlined in the 2026 budget, are people-oriented and designed to reduce and alleviate hardship within the local government area.
The chairman commended the Ogoja Local Government Legislative Council for expediting the consideration and passage of the budget proposal, noting that his administration is committed to transparency, accountability, and compliance with financial regulations.

Earlier, while presenting the Appropriation Bill for the chairman’s assent, the Leader of the Ogoja Local Government Legislative Council, Hon. (Dr) Elizabeth Mbim, stated that the House diligently scrutinised the budget proposal in line with established guidelines.
She expressed optimism that the Appropriation Act would effectively guide the Executive Arm in the seamless execution of approved projects and programmes for the benefit of the people of Ogoja.
