JUBA (CONVERSEER) – The family of Captain Luka Gathok Nyuon has alleged denial of ritual rites by the authorities.
Converseer learned that Captain Nyuon, a close bodyguard of suspended FVP Dr Riek Machar, died in military detention in Juba.
His family said they were informed Thursday morning but were not allowed to see or collect the body.
Opposition officials alleged torture and denial of medical treatment.
Human rights advocate Edmund Yakani condemned the death, calling for accountability.
This comes as Machar faces reasonable charges amid rising political tensions.
