The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Bassey Otu on New Media Advocacy, Awade Friday, also known as Last Prophet and Otwetwe, has been detained by the police in Calabar, Cross River State.
According to Diana-Mary Nsan, Awade was detained on Thursday alongside some men who accompanied him to his mother-in-law’s funeral in Ohafia, Abia State. Although, details of his detention are still sketchy.
“Subsequent to my previous post, it was vital to share the information promptly, given that it was not common knowledge among friends and family that Last Prophet was being detained by the police.
He is said to be detained along with other young men who accompanied him to Abia state for his mother-in-law’s funeral coverage or so.
“These young men who accompanied him for the funeral returned before him; he was still in Abia State and did not travel back with them.
“These young men chose to travel back by water, and unfortunately, one of them passed away on their way back. We hear he took a swim while the others did not. He passed on in the process. It’s indeed a tragic story and ill fate. Emotions are high, and there is pain over his demise.
“However, we appeal that we refrain from casting aspersions. Let the police investigate the facts of the matter, please, rather than detain; there is a process, if anyone is found guilty then they can be taken in. My condolences to the family of the deceased; words cannot suffice the loss of a promising young man.
“Meanwhile, thank you James Ibor and Jonathan Abang Ugbal for being so active despite little or no notice at all,” Nsan’s recent Facebook post read.

Findings by Converseer revealed that Last Prophet buried his mother-in-law five days ago. He shared the information on his official Facebook page.
“Day 3 – Live in Abia State (Ohafia). My Mother In law [sic], Late Elder Mrs Ifeanyichukwu Nonyelu (JP) will be layed [sic] to rest today. May her soul rest in Peace,” Awade posted on Facebook five days ago.

He also posted on the demise of an influencer, who supposedly accompanied him to the funeral.
“I am Sad. This was not the plan Abel Tha Influencer you were to return back to your family after a stressful Event,” Awade posted on Facebook two days ago with a crying emoji.

Converseer has reached out to the Police for comments.
