Immigration officer found dead in Calabar

CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – A Nigeria Immigration Service officer, Wofai Benson Akpama, has been found dead in his apartment in Calabar, Cross River State capital.

Converseer learned that the 30-year-old Immigration officer was found dead in his room at No. 34 Mbora Street, Etta-Agbor, Calabar Municipality.

According to sources, Joy Benson of Holland Street, informed the police about his younger brother’s sudden and unnatural death on Friday.

Immediately, the police visited the scene where the remains were observed.

Police sources said no visible marks of violence were discovered on the body and no foul play was initially suspected.

The corpse was subsequently evacuated to the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) for preservation and autopsy.

When contacted, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Sunday Eitokpah, told Converseer that, “We are investigating the matter,” adding that no arrest has been made so far.
