The newly elected State Chairman, Godwin Assam Effa, in his acceptance speech, described his leadership as a “new beginning” for the state, emphasising a vision that centres on the energy of the younger generation while maintaining respect for the wisdom of the old.

He said: “This moment is not just about me,” Effa declared, adding, “It is about a rebuild of broken values. It is about a generation that refuses to give up on its future. To the young people of Cross River State, your time is now.

“I pledge to transform the ADC from a mere political platform into a ‘platform for possibility,’ focusing on three core pillars: I will run an inclusive leadership by moving away from the politics of exclusion to embrace all demographics, I will restore integrity and confidence in leadership through transparency, and I will reposition Cross River as a beacon of progress and opportunity,” he declared.

Commending the party stalwarts including former Governor Senator Liyel Imoke, and the National Vice Chairman South Pastor Usani Usani, Effa called on all old and new members to join the movement, saying “together, we will build a party that wins not just elections, but the trust and hearts of the people.

“With the 2026 congress concluded, the ADC in Cross River State appears set on a path of aggressive grassroots engagement and internal reconciliation as it prepares for victory in the upcoming political season.”
