Governor Otu bags honorary doctorate degree

CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, has bagged an honorary doctorate, adding to the many honours received in the last two years.

Converseer reports that the honorary was conferred on Otu by Modibbo Adama University, Yola, Adamawa State, last week.

The degree was dubbed, “Honorary Doctorate Degree of Humanity.”

According to the Vice-Chan­cellor (VC) of MAU, Professor Ibrahim Umar, Governor Otu will receive the Doctor of Humanities (Honoris Causa), a distinction re­served for individuals whose in­fluence transcends professional boundaries to positively shape social development and national cohesion.

Congratulating the Governor on behalf of the management and staff of the Ministry of Establishments, Training and Pensions, Hon. (Mrs) Lawrencia Ita (Commissioner), said: “Your progression puts you on the pinnacle endearing to many which is why it is not surprising for reputable organisations including academia, to recognise your prowess in humanity.

The honour has received rounds of applause from top industrial experts, political appointees and Cross Riverians, both home and abroad.
