WASHINGTON, DC (CONVERSEER) – The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has made the draw for the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The draw, which was held at the John F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC, United States, grouped the teams into 12 groups, A-L.

The competition will begin in June and end in July 2026. A one-month event.

Recall that FIFA increased the number of teams from the traditional 36 to 48 to accommodate more countries.

Nine countries from Africa will be competing automatically, and the number could be increased to 10 if the Democratic Republic of Congo makes it through the Intercontinental playoff phase.

However, countries like Nigeria won’t be featuring in the expanded World Cup.
