Rovers FC vs Abakaliki FC players battling for the ball at the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar during Match Day 18 of the 2025/2026 NNL season

The Rovers Football Club of Calabar defeated Abakaliki Football Club by a lone goal in the last match of the Nigeria National League, NNL B2 Southern Conference, on Thursday.
The match was played at the U.J. Esuene Stadium, Calabar, with Tony Ayang scoring the only goal for Rovers in the 68th minute of the encounter.
With this result, Rovers FC are placed in 8th position in the NNL B2 Southern Conference with a total of 22 points from 18 games.
Meanwhile, all matches of the 2025/2026 NNL season have been concluded on Thursday, 16 April 2026.
Accepting defeat, Abakaliki FC shared on social media, saying, “Not really what we hoped for, nevertheless, we are the salt of the Nation.”
