LONDON (CONVERSEER) – Arsenal claimed a dominant 4-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, with Eberechi Eze delivering a decisive hat-trick to strengthen the Gunners’ Premier League title ambitions.
The result moved Mikel Arteta’s side six points clear at the top, restoring momentum after Manchester City’s surprise defeat to Newcastle on Saturday.
The hosts took control in the 36th minute when Mikel Merino produced a precise through ball that split the Tottenham defence. Leandro Trossard reacted quickest, guiding his effort into the net with the help of a slight deflection.
Tottenham, who approached the match with a conservative set-up, found themselves further behind five minutes later. Eze, operating with confidence and speed, shifted the ball inside before firing past Guglielmo Vicario to double Arsenal’s lead.
Arsenal’s authority grew immediately after the restart. Just a minute into the second half, Eze struck again, driving a fierce shot from the edge of the box after drifting into space. The 21-year-old, who was close to joining Tottenham before his summer switch to the Emirates, celebrated in front of an electric home crowd as Arsenal tightened their grip on the derby.

Tottenham briefly threatened a revival when Richarlison produced the moment of the match, spotting David Raya off his line and scoring with a remarkable 40-yard effort in the 55th minute. The strike, Spurs’ first attempt on target, offered a glimmer of hope for the visitors.
However, Arsenal maintained control and sealed the win in the 76th minute. Trossard, influential throughout, created space on the left before setting up Eze, who completed his hat-trick with another composed finish. The performance underlined the attacker’s growing influence and Arsenal’s renewed confidence as the campaign enters a crucial phase.
With their title rivals dropping points, Arsenal’s emphatic derby display added further weight to their credentials as they continue their pursuit of a first league crown since 2004.
