UGEP (CONVERSEER) – The Apostolic Secondary Grammar School, Ugep, has established an anti-drug, bullying and cultism club, in line with the Cross River State Ministry of Education’s directive. The club, named Aposgram Anti-Drug, Bullying and Cultism Association, aims to educate students on the dangers of cultism and illegal drugs.
36 students, with two representatives from each class, were selected to form the club. Following the elections, the following students were inaugurated into key positions:
- Iwara Greatness Okanke – Chairman
- Ubi ThankGod Ofem – Vice Chairman
- Onen David Godwin – Secretary
- Okoi Favour Otumoyi – Assistant Secretary
- Edodi Glory Johnson – Financial Secretary
- Omini Favour Ibiang – Treasurer
- Abam FearGod Fidelis – PRO
The Chairman, Iwara Greatness Okanke, also president of the Aposgram Press Club and incumbent GSP, expressed gratitude and pledged the club’s commitment to its mission.
The Vice Principal Administration Sir Omini Jesam Okon a.k.a Sir Mighty and the School Press Club Chairman Sir Odey Xavier Ojeka a.k.a Sir Sagacious advised the executives and members to effectively sensitise their peers on the risks associated with cultism and substance abuse.
They also urged the club members to report any negative behaviours and social vices in their classes to the school management, assuring that necessary disciplinary actions would be taken.
