Canadian national Dwight Sullivan found dead in Lagos hotel

LAGOS (CONVERSEER) – A 79-year-old Canadian national Dwight Sullivan, has been found dead in his hotel room on Victoria Island, Lagos state.

According to Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred at Sun Heaven Hotels Limited, located at 191a, Adeleke Adedoyin Street, off Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, in the early hours of 7th October.

Sources said that the Chief Security Officer of the hotel, Sunday Isadeha, reported the incident to the police at about 4:30 PM after the foreign guest was discovered lifeless on the floor of his room (Room 114), where he had lodged since 2nd October.

A team of security personnel from the Victoria Island Division visited and photographed the scene. According to the police, no marks of violence were observed on the deceased’s body.

The body was thereafter evacuated to the Lagos Island General Hospital, Marina, where a medical officer confirmed him dead. His remains were deposited at the hospital’s morgue for preservation and autopsy.

Sources said preliminary findings suggest no foul play, but investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause of death.
