DAKAR (CONVERSEER) – Senegal’s Teranga Lions won their second Africa Cup of Nations title on January 18, 2026, beating hosts Morocco 1-0 in a dramatic extra-time final in Rabat, marked by a controversial penalty and wild celebrations led by captain Kalidou Koulibaly.

Back in Dakar, 45-year-old President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye welcomed the team at the airport, hosted them at the presidential palace, and posed with his two wives Marie Khone Faye and Absa Faye, both elegantly dressed and cradling the trophy.

He rewarded each player with €115,000 and prime coastal land plots, praising their fighting spirit during a massive street parade that united the nation in joy.

The pose has generated numerous reactions online from netizens in both local and international communities.
