OGOJA (CONVERSEER) – A minibus carrying about five passengers has plunged into the river in Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross River State.
The bus, Converseer learned, plunged into the Abakpa River on Tuesday evening at about 4 PM while shuttling between Igoji and Abakpa.

According to a source, Prince Philip Alaga, the driver of the vehicle was able to jump out before it plunged into the river from the top of the bridge.

“A minibus carrying about five passengers just fell into the Abakpa River, leaving everybody dead.
“The driver was lucky to have jumped out alive,” Alaga stated.

The cause of the crash is yet to be ascertained as community members are trying to retrieve the vehicle and the victims from the river.

At the time of this report, search is still ongoing to retrieve the victims from the river.
