The Federal College of Education, FCE Obudu on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, held a comprehensive orientation programme for newly admitted Dual mandate Degree and NCE students at its Theatre Arts Hall, marking the formal commencement of their academic journey.
The Provost, Dr Richard Ugbaha Utubaku, was ably represented by the Deputy Provost (Academic), Dr Ezekiel Oji. Delivering the opening remarks, Dr Oji welcomed the students and emphasised the importance of discipline, dedication, and commitment to academic excellence. He encouraged them to maximise the opportunities available within the College.
The orientation programme was organised for both the first batch of Dual Mandate Degree students and the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) students, reflecting the college’s expanded academic structure.
The programme featured a series of presentations addressing academic expectations, institutional regulations, student life, and available support services, all aimed at helping students transition smoothly into the college environment.
An interactive question-and-answer session also formed part of the event, giving students the opportunity to seek clarification on various issues, with management providing detailed responses.
The orientation concluded on a positive note, with the college management reaffirming its commitment to supporting students’ academic success and overall development.
In attendance were key officials including the Registrar, Dr Evan Ijenya Osakwe; Deputy Provost Administration, Dr Godwin Tsua, the College Librarian, Dr James Odu; the Director of Academic Planning, Dr Joseph Fatoba; and the Chairman of COEASU, Mr Paul Ipuole Ogar. Representing the Bursar was Mr Bob Simeon Ogar.
Other dignitaries present included the immediate past Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dr M.C. Agim, the current Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dr Ignatius Ngwu, the Director of Degree Programme, Dr Regina Agbogo, the Director of Quality Assurance Dr Ukashia Joseph, Dr Margaret Uzor, Mr Aboh Thomas, and Mr Peter Agogo, Director of Student Affairs alongside Deans of Schools, Heads of Departments, Deputy Registrars, and other staff.
