The Uruan Chapter of the Arise With Renewed Hope Initiative was on Saturday inaugurated with Political Stakeholders of the area declaring their unflinching support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno and Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

In his welcome address, Surv. Iniobong Ekpenyong reaffirmed the unwavering loyalty of the Uruan people to Governor Umo Eno.

He asserted that the local government area remains an impenetrable stronghold for the current administration and the APC.

Echoing this sentiment in separate goodwill messages, the Chairman of Board of Internal Revenue, Mr. Okon Okon; the Commissioner for Internal Security and Waterways, Gen. Koko Essien; the Member representing Uruan State Constituency, Hon. Itoro Etim; and the Senator representing Uyo Senatorial District, Senator Aniekan Bassey, and the MD/CEO SSDC, Ms Usoro Akpabio all pledged their unalloyed support and promised to aggressively galvanize grassroots support to ensure an overwhelming victory for President Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno, and all other candidates fielded by the APC.

Speaking at the event, the President General of the initiative, Engr Uwem Okoko, said the group was formed to propagate what he described as the achievements and democratic credentials of President Tinubu.

He described President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a visionary leader who sacrificed personal comfort, business interests and family life in the struggle against military rule and for the restoration of democracy in Nigeria.

Recalling his days as a student at the University of Lagos during the military era, he said Tinubu was a hero and role model to many young Nigerians who longed for democratic governance.

“If not for the likes of our President, some of the positions we occupy today, including that of a local government chairman, could still have been under military administrators,” he said.

The President General added that among those who have sought the presidency in Nigeria’s recent history, none, in his view, possesses stronger democratic credentials than Tinubu.

He also stated that the people of Uruan had resolved to vote for the President, pledging grassroots mobilisation in support of his administration.

On the National Assembly leadership, he noted that since the tenure of Joseph Wayas between 1979 and 1983, the South-South region had not produced a Senate President and credited President Tinubu for the political support that led to Akpabio’s emergence as Senate President and described him as an “uncommon senator.”

Engr. Okoko charged the newly sworn-in officials to immediately set in motion comprehensive ward and unit mobilization strategies to strengthen grassroots support ahead of the 2027 polls, ensuring that the vision of the Arise with Renewed Hope Initiative is fully realized.
