The Super Eagles of Nigeria need to win this game if they ever dream of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup in the Americas (United States, Canada and Mexico).
Though it’s not the last qualification round, it is a step towards the World Cup finals.
Gabon, on the other hand, also want to be in the finals next summer.
Both nations failed to get an automatic slot from their respective groups, leaving them with no option but to do it the hard way by getting past their rivals on the continent and others for a slot.
It will be a massive game for either side, with the winner playing either Cameroon or the Democratic Republic of Congo, who are also determined to represent Africa next year.
All the matches are played in Morocco, which provides no advantage to any team.
