Cross River Forestry Commission celebrates Governor Otu at 66

CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – The Cross River State Forestry Commission has felicitated the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, on the occasion of his 66th birthday anniversary, describing his leadership as people-oriented and transformative.

In a goodwill message signed by the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, Ntufam Rt. Hon. Deacon George Oben-Etchi, PhD, FCIA, on Saturday, the Commission commended the Governor for his dedication to excellence, service to humanity and the development of the state.

Oben-Etchi stated that the Governor’s compassion has inspired confidence and rekindled hope for a better livelihood among Cross Riverians.

He noted that since assuming office, Governor Otu’s visionary leadership has led to significant advancements in agriculture, tourism, infrastructure, environmental conservation, and human capital development.

“Under your visionary leadership, Cross River State has witnessed tremendous growth in agricultural expansion, tourism and infrastructural development, environmental conservation, and human capital enhancement. Your dedication to good governance, economic advancement, and social harmony has repositioned the State as a model of peace, innovation, and opportunity,” the message read in part.

The Forestry Commission joined millions of Cross Riverians and Nigerians to celebrate the Governor’s impactful years, praying for God’s continued strength, wisdom, and good health for him to keep steering the state towards greater prosperity.

The Commission also pledged its commitment to supporting the Governor’s administration in achieving a greener, safer, and more prosperous Cross River State.

Governor Otu, popularly known as the “People First” Governor, was born on 18 October 1959. He has served as a Senator and currently leads Cross River State with a focus on inclusive governance, economic growth, and sustainable development.
