CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) is set to commemorate its 40th anniversary with Thanksgiving services and activities scheduled to hold across all 36 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
The fellowship, which originated from Rev. (Dr) Uma Ukpai’s “Greater Lagos for Christ” crusade four decades ago, has since expanded to become one of the largest Christian bodies in the country, with functional branches in all states, local government areas, and wards.
The celebration will be held in phases across major locations. The Cross River State chapter will mark the anniversary on Saturday, 18 October 2025, at Gold City Church, Calabar. Lagos will host its celebration on 23 October at Redemption Camp, while Abuja will round off the national thanksgiving on 27 October 2025.
Speaking on the significance of the milestone, Apostle Trinity Ogar, Chairman of PFN in Cross River State, described the anniversary as an auspicious opportunity for Christians to unite and intensify evangelism efforts nationwide.
“This unique occasion offers an opportunity for us to rededicate our lives to the teachings of Jesus Christ and pray for unity, survival and peaceful co-existence, rather than engaging in ungodly acts that could derail our national growth and development,” he said.
Apostle Ogar urged Nigerian leaders to seek divine guidance in their decision-making, noting that such an approach would help promote good governance and national stability.

He also paid tribute to PFN’s founding fathers, including the late Rev. (Dr) Uma Ukpai, Archbishop Benson Idahosa, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, Bishop Mike Okonkwo, Dr Felix Omobude, W. F. Kumuyi and others who played key roles in the fellowship’s establishment and growth.
“As state chairman, I wish all PFN members, especially the National President, Bishop (Dr) Francis Wale Oke, National Advisory Council (NAC), and National Executive Council (NEC) a happy anniversary. I also celebrate our National Vice President (South South), Archbishop Emmah Isong, and my colleagues at the state level. Above all, I commend our State Advisory Council (SAC) and State Executive Council (SEC) for their contributions,” he added.
He invited members and the public to the Cross River Thanksgiving service scheduled for 3:00 PM at Gold City Gospel Ministry, No. 9, Ikot Abasi Obori, off Calabar-Calabar Road. Ogar further appreciated the cordial relationship between PFN, government institutions, traditional rulers and other Christian blocs, expressing hope for greater cooperation in the years ahead.
