UGEP (CONVERSEER) – A sombre mood has descended on Holy Cross Catholic Church Ugep and the entire community following the sudden demise of Michael Obeten, also known as English Man, who was directing the Good Friday Passion Play.
The incident occurred when an iron object fell on his head, knocking him unconscious.
Obeten, 40, a dedicated member of the church, was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
His death has sent shockwaves through the church and Ugep community in Yakurr LGA of Cross River State.
The deceased was an active participant in church activities and was leading the Passion Play when the tragic accident happened. The church is in mourning, with many parishioners expressing their condolences.
Converseer reports that Obeten was a graduate of Mass Communication from the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS). He graduated in 2012.
