UGEP (CONVERSEER) – Earlier today, Hon. Yibala Igri Inyang, Chairman of the Yakurr Local Government Council, presented the Revised Budget of Inclusive Development to the Yakurr Legislative Council.
In his address, Hon. Inyang outlined how the revised budget aligns with the council’s vision of positioning Yakurr as a premier destination for cultural tourism and food‑crop production in Cross River State, while fostering thriving commerce and an enlightened, peaceful citizenry.

The 2025 budget was adjusted to cover unforeseen recurrent costs stemming from the new minimum‑wage increase, an expanded state workforce, a rise in political appointees, and other emerging financial obligations.
According to the chairman, the revision also reflects the administration’s commitment to strengthening security, upgrading infrastructure, empowering women and youth, and ensuring equitable development across all wards.

Hon. Inyang thanked executive and legislative members, staff, and stakeholders for their unwavering support and for creating an environment that enables the administration to thrive.
He urged the Honourable Councillors to back the revised budget, emphasising that it is designed to drive sustainable growth and deliver genuine value to the people of Yakurr.

The council is expected to begin implementing the new allocations in the coming months, with early projects slated to start before the end of the fiscal year.
