CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – Former Special Assistant on Media, Ursula Agbor, has petitioned journalist and rights activist, Agba Jalingo, to the Nigeria Police.
According to a police letter spotted by Converseer on Wednesday, the ex-aide to former Governor Ben Ayade reported a case of cyberstalking and criminal defamation of character to the police in Abuja.
The letter with reference number: CR: 3000/X/NPF-NCCC/FHQ/ABJ/ DP-JG/VOL23/377, signed by CP Uche Ifeanyi Henry, Commissioner of Police (NPF-NCCC) Director, requested Jalingo to appear in person in the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Abuja, on Monday, 28th July 2025.
The letter dated 21st July 2025, read:
“LETTER OF INVITATION RE: CASE OF CYBERSTALKING AND CRIMINAL DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER
1. The Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC), Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Abuja, is investigating a case of Cyberstalking and Criminal Defamation in which the above name featured prominently.
2. In view of the above, you are kindly requested to report in person for an interview with the undersigned through the ACP Mohammed Abdullahi scheduled as follows:
- Time: 10:00 AM
- Date: Monday 28th July 2025
- Venue: Nigeria Police force national Cybercrime Center (NPF-NCCC) Plot 625 Mission Road, Diplomatic Drive Central Business District, Abuja.
3. Your cooperation in this regard will be highly appreciated, please.
CP UCHE IFEANYI HENRY COMMISSIONER OF POLICE (NPF-NCCC) DIRECTOR, NIGERIA POLICE FORCE NATIONAL CYBERCRIME CENTRE PLOT 625, MISSION ROAD, DIPLOMATIC DRIVE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT, ABUJA.”
When Converseer contacted Agbor on the phone on Wednesday, she confirmed the petition, saying, “The matter is before the police.”
Recall that Agbor trended on social media some weeks ago regarding a matter between her and a food vendor known as Loveth Bisong, which Jalingo also posted about it. Read more about that here.
She was reportedly charged to court and granted bail. Her office, Cross River Broadcasting Corporation (CRBC) suspended her as well.
She said she tried every available avenue to have a discussion with Jalingo, but it did not work, so she has to take it up with the police to resolve the matter.
Responding, Jalingo took to social media to share his ordeal, saying: “Ursula Agbor has petitioned me for criminal defamation and cyberstalking her to the Police Force Headquarters in Abuja.
“The Police have sent me an invitation. I don’t know who is pushing this girl into this firing line.
“Someone with three criminal charges hanging on her head already o. She has sworn to deal with me sha, and the thing is laughable.”

In separate Facebook posts, Jalingo wrote: “Ursula Agbor, are you ready for me or you just want to distract my attention?
“Ursula Agbor, the Police have arrested me more than 50 times. I have been through 7 criminal trials, I have slept in 5 prisons, yet I remain unscathed and untainted. You are a small fry. I swear down.
“You have been intimidating weak people and forcing them to write apologies. It is time for you to write yours. Better write it and keep Ursula.
“After the Police have completed their investigation and found nothing as I expect, that’s if they don’t lock her up, I will report a case of giving false information to a public officer (the Police) under the Criminal Code (Section 125A). And I will expect the Police to investigate my petition thoroughly when it is submitted.”
