MOGADISHU (CONVERSEER) – Reports emerging from Mogadishu, capital of Somalia, have it that AU forces and the government of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud used live fire to disperse protesters, mostly women.
Many are calling for accountability and protection of civilian rights. Women, especially, are protesting over the poor standard of living and economic hardship caused by the government of the day.
“Under Hassan Sheikh Mohamud ’s rule, the poor are being hunted instead of helped. Families are dragged from their land through unfair arrests and ruthless seizures, while the Mooryaans in Villa Wardhiigley collaborate with Al Shabaab.
“This is no longer governance — it is terrorism disguised as leadership,” Kaadi Badane, a citizen, posted on X on Monday.
Defence Minister in Villa Wardhiigley, Hon. Ahmed Fiqi, has ordered controversial land seizures involving public property, as well as excessive force used against civilians during recent security operations.

According to Badane, “These factual proofs triggered widespread anger, calls for independent investigations, and renewed demands for transparency and accountability.”
“Mogadishu has become a killing field where security forces allegedly fire live rounds at desperate civilians demanding justice.
“30 people dead and 15 wounded, lives erased in seconds, blood staining the streets as the cries of the people are met with bullets instead of dialogue.
“Security in Mogadishu is at its lowest point in over 40 years. Innocent civilians are caught in repeated attacks, bombs, shootings, and waves of fear, while the Hassan Gurgurte fails to protect those it claims to serve. The city is no longer safe; it is being abandoned to chaos, corruption, and violence.
“A terrorist nation cannot survive when its leaders terrorise their own,” Badane added.
