LAGOS (CONVERSEER) – A Nigerian doctor working in the United Kingdom under the National Health Service (NHS) has shared details of her monthly income and expenses.

In a post on TikTok on April 7, 2026, she disclosed that her net monthly salary as a less-than-full-time NHS doctor is £3,389 (approximately ₦6,778,000).

She also broke down her shared household expenses, noting that she pays half of the monthly bills.

“Bills: £665 (this is my half of our joint bills each month). Rent: £475. Electricity and gas: £77. Council tax: £66. Water: £36.50. Broadband: £11,” she stated.

She explained that the total rent for their two-bedroom duplex is £950 (about ₦1,900,000), which she splits with her partner.

“Yup, it’s £950 for a 2-bed duplex and I split this with my partner. Most people think doctors earn a lot of money, but we don’t,” she said.

She added that despite careful budgeting, she often exceeds her planned spending on leisure activities.

“Budget my monthly salary as a Less Than Full-Time NHS doctor. I always end up overspending on the ‘entertainment/going out’ part… but YOLO, right? Tell me one thing you always overspend on,” she wrote.
