SPRINGS (CONVERSEER) – Mweleli Makhwethu, a former employee of Breswill Service Centre, is appealing for urgent assistance from the Motor Industry Retirement Funds (MIRF) over a delayed provident fund payout.
Makhwethu resigned in November 2024 but has yet to receive the funds. Despite following all instructions from MIRF, including visiting their Randburg offices and updating banking details from Standard Bank to Nedbank, the payment has still not been processed.
In a public plea, Makhwethu is asking MIRF to confirm whether the claim has been processed, explain the reason for the delay, verify the banking details on their system, and provide a clear payment date.

“The delay has caused me significant stress and financial strain. I have been patient, but this is too long and unfair,” Makhwethu said.
MIRF has yet to respond to the request for urgent intervention.
