COTONOU (CONVERSEER) – Benin Republic’s Interior Minister, Alassane Seidou, has confimed that the country’s armed forces have thwarted an attempted coup in the West African nation.
He stated that a small group of soldiers launched a mutiny with the aim of destabilising the country and its institutions.

This happened hours after a coup was announced at Benin. The regaining of the country reportedly had 13 soldiers arrested.
One was an ex-military and the rest are reportedly, active members of military.
Meanwhile, Nigerian Government claimed to have sent forces to arrest the situation.
