MARIGA (CONVERSEER) – The passengers kidnapped by armed bandits along the Kontagora–Zuru road in Mariga Local Government Area of Niger State have been released.
This was confirmed by the Niger State Police Command on Sunday.
According to an update from the command, the victims were released unhurt following sustained pursuit of the hoodlums by security operatives.
It stated that efforts were ongoing to track and arrest the fleeing suspects.
Recall that the command had earlier reported that a Toyota Corolla conveying passengers from Kontagora to Zuru was intercepted on Saturday evening at Gulbin-Boka village, leading to the abduction of the occupants.
