Otu appoints 196 Wards Rural Development Officers

CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – The Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, has approved the appointment of 196 Wards Rural Development Officers.

According to a statement issued by Mr Linus Obogo, Chief Press Secretary and Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, on Thursday, 18 December 2025, the appointment is in furtherance of Otu’s administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, grassroots empowerment and accelerated rural transformation.

“The approval reflects the Governor’s resolve to strengthen development coordination at the ward level, ensuring that government policies and interventions effectively touch the lives of the people where it matters most,” the statement added.
