ABUJA (CONVERSEER) – Launched in 2021, the NSCDC Female Squad also known as the Female Strike Force is a specialised, all-female armed unit of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, designed to combat insecurity.
Through military training programmes, they are highly trained to handle asymmetric threats, ensuring professional responses to criminals, with a focus on protecting schools, students, and critical infrastructure.
The unit is known for its ruggedness and specialised training, operating nationwide, with an emphasis on intelligence gathering and rapid response to kidnappings and now Special Protection.
While the unit is currently in rapid expansion and its service is in increased demand, the NSCDC under the leadership of Audi Abubakar continues to integrate more able personnel, train and retrain them for effective service delivery.
