LAGOS (CONVERSEER) – Social media has been frantic since 18th January after photos of a Nigerian man getting married to an oyinbo man surfaced online.
The Nigerian identified as Innocent Ndubuisi Okechukwu, is said to be an indigene of Imo State. The oyinbo man is only identified as Greg from the United States.

The Nigerian is a composer and pianist with a significant body of work and academic study in music. He began his education at a Catholic minor seminary (secondary school), where he sang/played music.
The oyinbo man is a chorister and a lector (reader) in the Episcopal Church.

The “wedding” took place in St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Downers Grove, Illinois, United States of America.
The minister is Rev. Gregg Morris. He is the rector (senior minister) of that parish.

Sharing the photos on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, Port Harcourt Socials (@PH_Socials) wrote:
“Moment a Nigerian Man from Imo state, Mr. Innocent Ndubuisi Okechukwu, got married to the bone of his bone.”
The post has generated a lot of comments, owing to the fact that Nigeria prohibits same-sex marriage.
Also, the oyinbo man looks way older than the Nigerian.
Some of the social media users expressed shock on how a church, which Biblically also forbids same-sex marriage, could wed the men.
Others said the man did it because of money and greencard.

“How did Western governments persuade Christians that polygamy (a man having two or more wives) is morally wrong and unacceptable, while at the same time convincing large numbers of them that same-sex marriage is morally acceptable? I am confused.” – @Hunter_Guide1
