CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – The Grand Patron of Environmental Education and Key note Presenter at Public Presentation and launching of Dr Comfort Agbor of Department of Environmental Education, University of Calabar, Prof. M. E. Inyang-Abia has implored The Special Guest of Honour and Co-founder of Obudu Conservation Centre (OCC) and CEO, Lega C. Capital, Mrs Nela Duke Ekpenyong to give copy of the Book “Understanding our Environment: A Guide For Everyone” to President Donald Trump of the United States of America (USA) due to his utterance on climate change at the just concluded United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Prof. Inyang Abia gave the charge to Her Excellency and wife of former Governor of Cross River State, Mrs Onari Duke who represented her daughter and wife to the Senator representing Cross River State South Senatorial District at the National Assembly Mrs Nela Duke Ekpenyong who was Special Guest of Honour at the book launch held at Jada Hall, Metopolitan Hotel, Calabar, over the weekend.

The event which had Hon. (Chief) Moses Osogi, Commissioner for Environment Cross River State as Distinguished Chairman; HRH Prof Itam Hogan, Muri Munene of Efut, Royal Father of the Day; Prof. Florence Banku Obi, Vice-Chancellor, University of Calabar; Ikpoto Okon Osung, Father of the Day; Dr Ambe A. Benjamin, Head of Department of Geography and Sustainable Education; and Senator Dr (Mrs) Akon Eyakenyi, Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, as Special Guest of Honour.

Fielding questions from newsmen after the occasion, the author, Dr Comfort Agbor, attributes global environmental problems to humanity’s failure to understand its environment and be guided by experts’ advice on how to mitigate the scourge of climate change.

Dr Raphael Effiong, Chairman of the Central Planning Committee (CPC) of the event, appreciated all the invitees who graced the function and urged people and students to patronise the author by purchasing and practising the contents of the book to have a better environmental society in the world.
