    By Frank Ulom

CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the Police Service Commission (PSC) will commence the physical and credential screening of applicants for the 2025/2026 police recruitment exercise in Cross River State on Monday, March 9, 2026.

The screening exercise, organised for candidates seeking enlistment as General Duty and Specialist Police Constables, will run until April 18, 2026.

In a statement issued on Thursday by Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Eitokpah Sunday, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Rashid Afegbua, in Calabar, the Cross River State Police Command said the exercise will take place daily from 7:00 a.m. at the Police Officers’ Mess, Moore Road.

The command said the screening is specifically for applicants who are indigenes of Cross River State and who successfully completed the online registration for the recruitment exercise.

Applicants are required to appear at the venue dressed in clean white T-shirts and white shorts and must present all required documents neatly arranged in two white flat files.

According to the command, the mandatory documents include two recent passport photographs, evidence of physical and mental fitness issued by a government-recognised medical hospital, and a certificate of origin signed by the chairman or secretary of the applicant’s local government area.

Other required documents are the original and duplicate copies of the National Identity Card or NIN slip, original and duplicate copies of O’Level results, a birth certificate or declaration of age, a printout of the application form, a duly completed guarantor’s form, and an invitation slip.

The command warned that applicants who fail to present any of the required documents will not be considered for the screening exercise.

Candidates were, therefore, advised to strictly adhere to their scheduled screening dates and comply with all stipulated guidelines to avoid disqualification.

Reaffirming the integrity of the recruitment process, the police command stressed that the exercise is free of charge and will be conducted strictly on merit.

“The recruitment screening process is completely free of charge and will be conducted strictly on merit, in line with the highest standards of professionalism, transparency, and accountability,” the statement read.

The command further urged members of the public to report any individual or group demanding gratification or inducement in connection with the recruitment exercise.
