Names of Nigerian journalists who died in road crash

GOMBE (CONVERSEER) – The management of BATV has released the names of the journalists who died in a car crash along Billiri, Gombe State, on Monday, 29 December 2025.

According to a statement by Mrs Fibi Kafi, Acting Managing Director of BATV, on Tuesday, the deceased are staff of NTA Gombe.

Kafi who condoled with the deceased families, said, “The station also extends its condolences to the entire NTA family Nationwide and the NUJ Gombe State council over this tragedy.

“We received the news of the death of the six staff with rude shock and are deeply saddened.”

The names deceased as released by the management of NTA Gombe include:

1. Manu Haruna Kwami (Manager Admin)

2. Zarah Umar (Manager News)

3. Isa (Editor)

4. Musa Tabra (Retired Manager News)

5. Aminu (Driver)

6. Adams (Startimes)

Emmanuel Akila and Steven Doddo, on the other hand, are severely injured and receiving treatment.

“May God in his infinite mercy grant their souls eternal rest, the immediate family the fortitude to bear the loss and the injured quick recovery,” the statement added.

Converseer reported earlier that the journalists were returning from a colleague’s wedding when their bus came crashing.
