BREAKING: Kidnapped Calabar boat passengers regain freedom

CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – The Calabar boat passengers who were kidnapped about 11 days ago have regained freedom from their abductors.

The passengers, 17 in number, were kidnapped by suspected sea pirates on the Calabar waterways on 26th September.

Converseer gathered that the victims regained their freedom today, 6th October. Although it is unclear if all 17 of them were freed at the time of this report.

According to a security source, the freed victims are currently receiving medical care at a government-owned facility in the metropolis.

Recall that the passengers boarded a commercial boat belonging to Sea Express from Calabar, Cross River State capital to Oron in Akwa Ibom State.

The boat was hijacked by suspected sea pirates, and 17 out of the 30 people on the boat were whisked away to an unknown location.
