ABUJA (CONVERSEER) – The Chief of Staff to the Governor of Cross River State and Otu Kinwang I of Boki Nation, Chief (Dr) Emmanuel Ironbar, was among prominent Cross Riverians who gathered in Abuja over the weekend for the annual Leboku New Yam Festival.

This year’s edition, themed “Kedei Sana Leboku Jana” — Unity and Expansion of Our Cultural Heritage, was held at the Bolton White Event Centre, Wuse Zone 7, attracting cultural enthusiasts, community leaders, and friends of the state.

The event featured colourful displays of traditional music, dance, and communal interaction, highlighting the unique cultural identity of the Cross River people.

Dr Ironbar’s participation was described as more than symbolic. His presence reinforced his belief in the unifying power of cultural celebrations, especially for indigenes living outside the state. It also underscored the government’s support for preserving heritage and fostering stronger bonds across communities.

Organisers of the Abuja Leboku Festival noted that the event not only showcased cultural pride but also strengthened social ties among Cross Riverians in the Federal Capital Territory and beyond.
