ABUJA (CONVERSEER) – The Organised Labour has called off the planned nationwide protest on insecurity scheduled for today, 17 December 2025.
The leaders of the Organised Labour, led by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) President Joe Ajaero, met with the Federal Government Intervention Team, headed by the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma.
The two parties who met behind closed doors on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, also met in the early hours of today, 17 December 2025, to broker a truce around grey areas of disagreement, especially on security, workers’ welfare and the economy
The Labour leaders announced an end to the nationwide protest and commended the president for the steps taken so far to address the underlying demands of workers.

Other members on the Federal Government side are Governors of Kebbi, Nasiru Idris; Edo, Monday Okpebholo; Kogi, Ahmed Usman Ododo, and Minister of State Labour and Employment, Nkiru Onyejeocha.
Converseer reports that workers had earlier gathered at the Labour House, Abuja, to commence the nationwide protest, subject to the outcome of the meeting with the Federal Government.
Recall that the NLC had issued a statement, lamenting how their workers are being killed by bandits, terrorists and other assailants.
