Abuja (Converseer) – President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians to thank God, saying he’s aware that the hike in fuel price is biting hard, adding that in all of this, the country is better than Kenya and other African countries.
Tinubu stated this during his visit to Bayelsa State, earlier today. The President spoke on infrastructure development, economic reforms, and cooperation between the federal government and states.

He explained that ongoing projects, including the Yenagoa city road, are aimed at improving access, enhancing urban mobility, and supporting overall development.
Addressing economic hardship, he acknowledged the impact of rising fuel prices but urged Nigerians to remain hopeful.
He said: “Yes, I hear you from various angles of the economy. The fuel price is biting hard, but look around, let’s just thank God together that you are better off. Listen to them in Kenya, in other African countries, what they are going through.”
He emphasised that such projects are not only about infrastructure but also about job creation, noting that construction activities generate employment for many people, including water suppliers, welders, concrete mixers, and other workers. He assured continued federal support for development efforts and encouraged stronger collaboration between the federal and state governments.

Tinubu also highlighted the importance of partnership, stating that cooperation with states like Bayelsa and Delta will continue in order to drive regional growth and transform the Niger Delta into a more prosperous area. He thanked the people for their reception and praised the support shown during his visit.
“Standing in Bayelsa today, what I saw was more than infrastructure. The New Yenagoa City Road 1 is about access. The Angiama–Oporoma Bridge is about connection. The Bayelsa Independent Power Project is about opportunity.
“At every level, government must stay focused on what works for people and our administration will continue to collaborate with states serious about putting people first.
“When we do this, we are not just building projects. We are building confidence in our future as a people and as a nation.
“I must commend Governor Duoye Diri for putting the people first. Thank you, Bayelsa. Nigeria will surely succeed,” he stated.

Reaffirming his commitment to national development, he stressed the need for transparency and honesty in governance, saying the government will continue focusing on policies that strengthen the country and improve citizens’ lives.
