CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – Federal civil servants in Cross River State have pledged to ensure that their presence in the state is marked by professionalism and excellence as they look forward to 2026.

Dr Rita Akpan, Chairman of the Association of Heads of Federal Establishments (AHFE), Cross River Chapter, made the pledge during its end-of-year party.

Dr Akpan said, “As we stand at the threshold of a new year, I encourage us all to remain steadfast.

“Let us renew our commitment to service, continue to drive improvements in our various establishments and ensure that the Federal presence in Cross River State remains a model of efficiency and professionalism,” she said.

Reflecting on the outgoing year, she said civil servants in the state strengthened their synergy, deepened cooperation across MDAs and also improved communication channels.

She also emphasised that she is proud of the achievements of her colleagues, the strides they have achieved together and also humbled to lead such an exceptional body of professionals.

As part of the celebration, the outgoing heads of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), National Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in the state were honoured for their outstanding contributions to the association.
