Eid-el-Fitr: Orok Duke felicitates Tinubu, Muslims, urges national unity

CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – The Cross River State representative on the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Rt. Hon. Chief Orok Duke, PhD, has extended warm felicitations to President Bola Tinubu and the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

In a goodwill message, on Friday, Duke highlighted the significance of the festival, describing it as a period that calls for reflection, unity, and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.

“I extend my sincere felicitations to His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and all Muslims, on the occasion of the Eid-el-Fitr,” he said.

He noted that the celebration goes beyond religious observance, stressing the need for collective efforts to address challenges threatening national unity.

“This celebration is significant, not just for the Muslim Ummah, but a moment that calls for collective action against forces that threaten our common existence as a nation. Islam, as we all know, is a religion of peace. May the Almighty Allah bring us peace and grant our hearts’ desires,” Duke added.

The NDDC board member further urged Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for the country and its leadership, particularly under President Tinubu.

He commended the administration’s Renewed Hope agenda, stating that it is contributing to improved livelihoods, especially through infrastructure projects across the Niger Delta region, including the ongoing coastal highway development.

Duke emphasised that sustained peace and unity remain critical to national growth and development.
