Dollar crashes to naira at official FX market

LAGOS (CONVERSEER) – The Nigerian naira has extended its gain against the American dollar at the official window on Wednesday, 11 February 2026.

At the official window, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) foreign exchange data showed that the naira closed at N1,348.95/$1, compared to N1,351.02/$1 it traded on Tuesday.

This represents a gain of N2.07 for the local currency against the dollar.

At the black market, the naira gained N2 against the dollar, trading at N1,445/$1, as against the previous rate of N1,447/$1.

The local currency, however, lost N5 against the British Pound to trade at N2,000/£1 as against the previous day’s rate of N1,995/£1.

The naira closed flat against the Canadian dollar and Euro to trade at N1,130/CA$1 and ₦1,700/€1, respectively.
