CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – The Commissioner representing Cross River State on the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Rt. Hon. Chief Orok Otu Duke, PhD, has mourned the passing of Orok Edwards Imaha, highlighting his vibrant spirit and dedication to sports.
Imaha who passed away on 24 August 2025, at the age of 59, left the city of Calabar in a solemn mood, as family, friends, and associates gathered to bid him a final farewell.
In a heartfelt tribute, Dr Duke said, “Orok Edwards Imaha was a sportsman,” adding, “We should always check on our health because of complications that come with age.”
The simple yet profound statement painted a picture of a man deeply invested in physical well-being and a close-knit circle that prioritised health and mutual care. His passing has left a void in the sporting community of Cross River State.

A memorial card bearing his image carried the inscription, “What we once enjoyed and deeply loved, we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us.” The words served as a comforting reminder to the grieving attendees that the legacy of the late sportsman, born on 4 September 1965, would endure in their hearts.

The burial service, which was held on Wednesday, was a poignant celebration of a life dedicated to fitness and camaraderie, deeply felt by all who knew him.
As the Calabar community continues to mourn, the memory of Orok Edwards Imaha is celebrated as one of vitality, friendship, and a life well-lived in the pursuit of health and sporting excellence.
