Cleric admonishes Christians on golden rule on World Consumer Rights Day

CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – As the World celebrates International Consumer Rights Day on March 15, 2026, a cleric, Apostle Emmanuel E. Ekpo, has admonished Christians to imbibe the Golden Rule in their dealing with fellow individuals in every sphere of life.

Apostle Ekpo gave the charge in his message at the sendforth and thanksgiving service held in his honour on Sunday March 15, 2026 in The Apostolic church Nigeria, Ikot Effio-Okon Area Headquarters in Akpabuyo Field, Cross River State Territory.

Referencing Hebrews 13:17 “Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves; for they watch for your souls, as they must give account, that they may do it with you with joy and not with grief; For that is unprofitable for you” explained for the society to experience an egalitarianism, people must practice the Golden rule as instructed by the Saviour of the Universe Jesus Christ in Mathew 7:12 “Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you” insisting that the world never enjoy a Consumer Rights Day without obeying the Golden rule in business transactions globally.

The event featured Divine Worship, song renditions and presentation of gifts to the celebrant by movements and staff of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Ikot Effio-Okon Area.

Dignitaries that graced the occasion include Pastor Dr Etta E. Edet, Field Superintendent of TACNAF, Pastor Dr E. B. Ekpo, Deputy Field Superintendent of TACNAF, Pastor F. E. Nathaniel, Field Secretary, TACNAF and Pastor Dr Bong Duke, Vice chairman of Cross River State Planning Commission among others.

In their vote of thanks and appreciation, Pastor E. B. Okon, Chairman of the occasion and Pastor Inok O. Mesembe, Area Secretary of the Apostolic Church Nigeria, Ikot Effio-Okon Etim Area returned the glory to God Almighty for success of the send-forth and thanksgiving service in honour of Apostle Emmanuel E. Ekpo who is leaving the Area after seven years of missionary journey on the Area.
