NEW JERSEY (CONVERSEER) – Chelsea have defeated Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) 3-0 to clinch the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

Despite being the tournament favourite, PSG slumped in the first 30 minutes to The Blues who capitalised and punished the European Champions.

The UEFA Conference League winners started on the front foot with Cole Palmer nearly putting the English side in front in the 8th minute, following a swift move.

22 minutes on the clock, Palmer put Chelsea in front, collecting a cut back from Malo Gusto whose shot was blocked, and slotted past Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Palmer doubled Chelsea’s lead in the 30th minute after PSG’s defence was torn apart.

Palmer turned provider on the 43rd minute, setting up João Pedro, who dinked Donnarumma to kill the game.

João Neves almost pulled one back for PSG at the 45+1 minutes.

PSG started on the front foot in the second half, but Robert Sanchez was equal to the task, keeping the UEFA Champions League winners out up to the final whistle.

At the other end, Donnarumma kept the scoreline at 3, saving twice from Liam Delap.

Things got worse for PSG as Neves was sent off after pulling Cucurella’s hair.

The win makes Chelsea the first team to win the new 32-team FIFA Club World Cup format.

Chelsea are also the first team to win all European trophies: the Champions League, the Europa League and the Conference League.
