OGOJA (CONVERSEER) – In a dazzling display of cultural flair, the Black Diamond Band of Obanliku Local Government Area has emerged victorious at the 2025 Ogoja Street Carnival.
The event, which showcased the rich cultural heritage of Cross River State Northern Senatorial District, saw Black Diamond band outshining its competitors to claim the top spot.
Here’s how the bands ranked, according to the results signed by Sir (Dr) David Mobotor, Chief Adjudicator:
1. Black Diamond Band (Obanliku) – CHAMPIONS
2. Golden Band (Ogoja) – 2nd Place
3. Excellent Band (Yala) – 3rd Place
4. Hill Side Band (Obudu) – 4th Place
5. Legacy Band (Bekwarra) – 5th Place
Converseer reports that the second edition of the Ogoja Carnival, with the theme “Traces of Times”, was flagged off by Deputy Governor Peter Odey on 22nd December 2025.
