BOKI (CONVERSEER) – In the true spirit of Christmas, the Chief Whip of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Hilary Bisong, has reached out to the people of Boki II State Constituency, bringing hope and relief to families during a season marked by economic pressure and rising costs.

The lawmaker distributed 600 bags of rice, along with spaghetti, seasoning cubes, salt, vegetable oil, and financial support across the six wards of the constituency, ensuring that the joy of Christmas touched homes at the grassroots. The gesture was designed to ease the burden on households and allow families to celebrate with dignity.

The outreach was carried out in alignment with the Season of Sweetness championed by the Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu, whose administration continues to emphasise compassionate governance and people-centred leadership across the state.

Rt. Hon. Bisong described the initiative as a moral and leadership responsibility, noting that representation goes beyond lawmaking to standing with the people in moments of need. He emphasised that leadership must feel the pain of the people and respond with empathy and action.

Across the wards, beneficiaries received the support with visible emotion and gratitude, describing the intervention as timely and reassuring. For many families in Boki II, the outreach was more than food—it was a reminder that they are seen, valued, and not forgotten in this Season of Sweetness.
